（雅昌艺术网讯）2020年开始，一切都不同以往。在澳大利亚旅行考察的观念和跨界艺术家张华洁，在变换的特殊时空，不断有新的灵感迸发。在短短的一个多月里，他创作了大量摄影，数百张纸本速写、水墨和草图。随即在这些手稿的基础上，他演绎出多组材料和风格迥异的系列作品。这些“不确定的”新作，既部分延续了他多年的创作体验和艺术理念，也有在新环境和新形势中孕育出的全新元素和思考与行动落实。

Zhang Huajie, cinema director, cinematographer and conceptual artist . For many years, his works have interpreted the unique visual field, the resonance of the self, the media, the scene and the audience. He has walked freely in the fields of film, theater, photography, and painting. He has also alternated freely between figurative and abstract in his painting. He has a new understanding and practice of traditional Chinese ink painting, and has extensive knowledge of Western modern and contemporary art. He is quite conscious of reference and expression. It can be said that he is not only an authentic Asian artistbut also a crossborder artist with an international perspective and concept.

In practice, Zhang Huajie agreed with Gerhard Richter's idea of “rejection of personal style". He has been a transcendent art explorer for many yearsIn terms of concepts, although Zhang Huajie was influenced by post modemist artist Joseph Beuys, in the process of diversified interpretation, he was free fromself-restraint.

Beginning in 2020, everything has changed. Zhang Huajie, who resides in Melbourne, Australia, is constantly inspired. In just over a month, hundreds ofsketches and ink paintings have been created. Then based on large numbers of manuscripts, he created and interpreted at least four series. These new works not only continue many years of creative artistic experiences, but also new elements have been incorporated.

      An epidemic is spreading all over theworld. UNCERTAIN as long as it continues,means there are no boundaries for endless art! No matter how fateful the upsand downs, the creative activities of the artist will not stop.

The works on display are all created by Mr.Zhang Huajie during his stay in Australia. Unpredictable, ambiguous, changeable, atmospheric. UNCERTAIN is not only his state of exploration, but also fits his usual artistic stand: if the shell is hardened, it becomes a habit, the habit is established, the longestablished craftsmanship is established, but the freedom is not available. Give me liberty or give me death. But cocoons can be formed, and the wings are formed and can fly freely after breaking the cocoons. This solo exhibition is the result of Mr. Zhang Huajie's phased "cocooning" in  Melbourne.

South Yarra, where Polaris Gallery located is in the central Melbourne. With its abundance of artistic venues, food and access to the ocean, Melbourne is often cited as one of the most livable cities. South Yarra is ground zero in this livable city. South Yarra is famous for its humanities, highend fashion boutiques. It's like the antique quarter in European movies, which makes people linger. To theEast, TOORAK is the one of the ten wealthiest areas in Australia, and to the north is the CBD and the Royal Botanic Gardens. To the west are the FI Arena, Albert Park and St Kilda Beach.

张华洁，电影导演、摄影师和观念艺术家。他的作品多年来一直在自我、媒介、现场、观众的共鸣中阐释出独特的视觉场意味。他在电影、戏剧、摄影、绘画等多个领域自由行走，也在绘画的具象与抽象之间自由切换。他对中国传统水墨有新的领悟与实践，也对西方现当代艺术广泛涉猎，颇有借鉴与表达的自觉。可以说，他不仅是地道的东方艺术家，更是具有国际视野和观念的跨界艺术家。

在实践中，张华洁认同格哈德·里希特的“拒绝个人风格”的理念。他多年来成为了真正的永不停歇的艺术探索者。在观念上，张华洁虽然受后现代主义艺术家约瑟夫·博伊斯的影响，但在多样跨界演绎的过程中，绝无自我束缚而始终保持自在自由。

展出的这些作品，都是张华洁旅居澳洲期间创作的。多意、飘忽、多变、大气。不确定的，不定义的，既是他在探索之中的状态，也契合了他一贯的艺术立场：不结壳，壳成则易成习气，久成匠气，习气匠气，自由不具。不自由，毋宁死。但可以结茧，茧破则羽翼丰满，可自由飞翔。本次个展就是张华洁在墨尔本阶段性的“结茧”成果。
